| Reform can send the forms to any Windows based
fax system.
Typical automated fax scenario:
A purchase order agent has just entered in a
purchase order. He prints out his purchase order using the same normal
routines. At this point he is done and free to go on to his next job and
Reform will do the rest. (There are many way in which Reform can capture
from an accounting system but in this scenario I will use the method of
capturing off the LPT2 ports). His system is running our utility
program that captures his printer port and instead of the purchase order
ending up at his dot matrix print it is sent by our utility into Reform.
Reform will process it against the pre-defined Reform template that adds
it's logo's, font size changes, lines and the most important part, it will
extract the fax information for the purchase order such as Company name,
Contact name, fax number, subject, notes and cover page name. When that
part is all done which happen in less then a second, the purchase order
with it new reformatted look and the specific fax information is sent using
the API link to the fax system. The fax system will have the fax job queued
and in the out going box for sending with all necessary information with
out the user knowing or seeing anything. In most fax system the user has
the option to view the fax log to determine the status of his fax transmission.
Reform is not a fax system, it creates a seamless link between the form
system and the fax system.
Setting up the above scenario is a five easy
step process:
1.) Make the interface
to your application.
2.) Use our Reform editor
to create a pre-define format.
3.) Drop the special fax fields from the Text
Layer on the text to capture.
4.) Select the fax
driver in our page setup.
5.) Select the fax driver in our script setup
and enabled automatic.
There are two different type of fax interfaces:
1.) API link: is not important to
know anything about API as long as you understand that this is the way
Reform communicates with specified fax systems. Status
list of API linked fax systems.
2.) Macro link
: Reform has a built in macro system that allow you to define the how the
information gets entered in the fax information popup window. This method
is not as seamless as method #1 because the user will see the fax information
popup window and the information will be automatically type in by Reform. |
